Dreams' work, creative work

In the countries which I explore by walking and travelling, the creation of my works always begins with a series of photographs. These shots constitute the first elements of my work. It can be photos of waste industrial land, of passers by where I live, urban landscapes, drying washing hanging at the windows or of natural sites. Once back in my studio, the physical displacement is followed by the displacement of the medium chosen in accordance with the future work.

The different operations realised on my source images produce weight and consistence to the creative process and could be presented as works in their own right, as a sequence. Or again be left behind. Walking, the gestural intention and the inside run up of the creation are knotted together, animated by a movement which produces the artistic work in its continuity. To a certain point of development or maturity of the picture, this escapes, thanks to a creative jump, and discovers suddenly its autonomy. This stays and the intermediate steps evaporate as when waking up; it remains, at the same time bearing its genesis and only leaving its own mystery.
